54 Mill Road

Books, magazines, records and food

1962

(54a) H G Stiles, bakers

In the early to mid seventies 54 Mill Road was the location of a music and book shop called Last Exit owned, it is believed, by Chris Guest, Dave Rodgers and Steve DeBondt.

Thanks to Gregor Alvey for the information and posters.

By 1978 it had become Bar Italia.

Later it became the Bosphorus – well known as the place to get hot food late at night after everywhere else had closed for the evening.

The site is currently (2019) the LightHouse Grill.
