History of 237 Milton Road
This was the house built by Harry Allen Moden after his marriage in 1908. He moved here from Humberstone Road in 1914 after his doctor advised him to take more exercise. He had previously lived with his family at 3 Market Hill.
Previously, as well as his work at the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company, he had been a prolific cartoonist, publishing them as postcards for sale in local shops.
After the move to Milton Road he virtually ceased drawing and very few colleagues knew that he had been a cartoonist.
