1-5 Beauclare Cottages 105-113 Cherry Hinton Road

History of 1-5 Beauclare Cottages Cherry Hinton Road

This was the first part of Beauclare Cottages to be built and as such one of the first of several rows of artisan cottages in the road.

In the 1891 census they housed:

1 (105) H Maskell aged 44 school mistress

2 (107) A Moore widow aged 45 living on her own means with her daughter Alice 20, student of piano

3  (109) Allen Rowbottom aged 26 wood and stone carver with his wife Ellen 25.

4 (111) James Roberts 51 railway clerk, wife Emily 47 and daughter Florence 13.

5 (113) James Stevenson 27 professional cook, his wife Lilly 26, daughter Lilly 6 and sons Peter 4 and Horace 1.
