75 High Street, Three Tuns, Abington

History of the Three Tuns

Listed Building:

Public house. C17 with C19 alterations.

Games of skittles would have been played in a skittle alley down the side of the building.

1847 – 1860s:

Landlord Robert Missen was licensed to brew ale. Such beer would have been collected for local farm workers.

1875 – 1900s:

Charles and James Missen

1916

Frank William Hunt

1922-37

The Three Tuns was a temperance hotel run by the People’s Refreshment House Association Ltd.
