See Vanishing Cambridgeshire:

By 1930 much of the village had been put on sale. An advertisement read: Village for sale – delightful property consisting of 45 cottages, general stores and village hall. Price £3,250. Bargain.

In June 1954 a total of 29 cottages at Great and Little Abington were again offered for sale when the majority were purchased by the Cambridgeshire Cottage Improvement Society to ensure the preservation of these two charming villages.

By 1957 the thatch had collapsed [on no.88] and the four cottages were converted into two. The well had been filled in.
