Cambridge Central Mosque opened in 2019. The £23m project was funded by over 10,000 donations. The competition for the design was won by London-based architect David Marks.
The garden in front was designed by Emma Clark, an expert on Islamic gardens.
The timber columns of the mosque interior were made from spruce, grown in Hungary and milled in Switzerland. The mosque is said to be a showcase of eco design with a near-zero carbon footprint.
