In 1934 a memorial trough was erected on Mitcham’s Corner in the memory of a dog named Tony.
The inscription reads: “In memory of Tony a dog who gave him friendship and happiness during his Cambridge years. This trough is erected by his royal highness Prince Chula of Siam”.
The Prince was Chula Chakrabongse of Siam. He studied at Trinity College.
Along with his cousin, Prince Bira, they ran the White Mouse racing team of the thirties and forties, racing at Monaco and Brooklands.
