5 St Peter’s Street, The Terrace

History of 5 St Peter's Street

1897

This was the home of William Cecil Dampier Whetham and his wofe Catherine ‘Kitty’ Durning née Holt after they married in this year.

In 1902 they moved to Upwater Lodge, Chaucer Road, which they had had built.

A biography of Kitty has been written by her granddaughter Jan Pahl: Kitty Holt: her Life and her Legacy.
