Charles Theodore Bedwell: lieutenant, 1st Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment. Killed in action 12/4/1918. Arrived France 2/9/1916. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
Rosemont was one of the first large houses built in this part of Cherry Hinton Road. In 1891 the first recorded inhabitant was James Greenall, chaplain b.1849 with his wife Alice and three children. He was chaplain at H.M. Prison Cambridge. By 1901 he is a minister in the parish of Holy Innocents, Foulsham, Norfolk.
We then find in 1911 George Bedwell the piano tuner living here and in 1913 a Michael Prendergast Parker, a lithographic artist.
It was one of four houses demolished in the late 20th century to make room for the Normanhurst residential home.
