History of 26 City Road

1913

Samuel Maltby, College servant

Sam Maltby was a gyp at Clare College and his son worked at Clare as well. The Maltbys took in their two nieces, Nora and Florence Holder, after their parents died (32 City Road).

Nora Holder was in service for many years to Miss Eleanor Rolleston.

Florence Holder worked as a tailoress for Palmers the tailors in Green Street,
