History of 39 High Street

Listed Building

Former Literary and Scientific Institution, founded 1840, building opened 1843. Architects Pocock and Glover.

The photo shows, extreme right, The Crown, then Cooper and Co. No.39 is just visible in the mid distance on the right hand side. All other buildings seem to have been replaced.
