Soham OS 1901The grounds of the place were used for garden parties:
1925 ceased to be private residence and sold with 11 acres by auction.
1928 house bought by council and pavilion and recreation ground created in 1929.
A second tennis court was added after WWII by Mr and Mrs E R Ennion in memory of their son, Captain T R E Ennion, who was killed in action with the Cambridgeshire Regiment at Singpore in 1942.
