Charles Sturman’s career in computing has been based in Cambridge for the last 20 years. He has worked in ARM, Hisilicon and Cambridge Wireless. He would often visit various cafes and with colleagues and work in and around the city centre. Charles notes that “My time working at Cambridge Wireless at the Science Park was pivotal to me. I didn’t grow up in Cambridge, and I thought I saw everything after spending years in the city centre. Driving through King’s Hedges Road as part of my commute, made me realise how important it is to address the role of tech industry in supporting all Cambridge areas thrive”.

After years of being a software engineer, he decided to launch his own company called TechWoks three years ago. TechWorks is a non-profit organisation with a mission to build better and stronger tech ecosystems by supporting partnership formations across various leaders in the sector. Outside of work, Charles now regularly donates his time and money to support community groups in the local areas so close to the tech clusters he works with.
