Press 12.3.1915: FUNERAL OF FORMER HEADMASTER OF ST PAUL’S SCHOOL – The funeral of Mr Henry John Buckwell a former headmaster of St Paul’s Boy’s School, whose death occurred at his residence 32 Glisson Road, Cambridge, at the age of 59, took place at Mill-road Cemetery yesterday [Thursday] afternoon, after a service at St Mary’s the Less Church………In 1908 his health began to break down, and the following summer he was compelled to retired form the headmastership, greatly to the regret of the School Committee and his many friends. Mr Buckwell was a strong Churchman, and for several years was hon. treasurer of the local branch of the Church Defence League. In politics he was a staunch Conservative and for some time served on the committee of the Central Conservative Club. He was also a keen chess player, and was secretary of the Chess Club for some time. The service at the church was conducted by the Rev A.J.C Allen, vicar of St Mary’s the Less, and the Rev Dr Stokes, vicar of St. Paul’s. The hymns sung were ‘On the resurrection morning’ and ‘The Saints of God their conflict past’. Mr A.B. Chandler, headmaster of St. Paul’s School presided at the organ

Mrs Buckwell. Rebecca lived at 32 Glisson Road until she died in 1938, with her sister Flora.
