1872
Martha Hall was arrested on suspicion of having murdered her 9 month old baby which was found in Lensfield Brook. (CCJ 24.8.1872) The newspaper describes her as living at 2 Parkside. The 1871 census lists a Martha Hall in Gwydir Street working as a servant for the family of John Adams. At the inquest a witness stated that the baby had been baptised Adams.
The court case shows that a Mr and Mrs Cockle were living at the house but had been away and had died by the time of the trial.
