339 High Street Cottenham

Listed building:

Cottage, late C17, and part weatherboarded gable ends restored mid C20. Timber framed, plaster rendered with thatched roof of reed and rebuilt ridge stack.

There was a cheese press in the dairy; the pressed cheeses were passed through a hole in the ceiling to the cheese room above. Cheese production ended after the cattle plague of 1865.
