45 Belvoir Road, was built in 1927 (there’s a stone engraved with PAC Booth 1927. Booth is my mothers maiden name. The PAC Booth stands for Percy Arthur Charles Booth. Percy was involved in the building of the house, financed by Harry Foyster (a relative of Percy’s wife – Lily Lancum). Percy purchased the house outright in Sept 1943 for £700 + costs (£516 mortgage and £250 cash).
In 1953 my grandparents moved in – Ronald Percy Humphrey Booth and Marjorie Clara Booth (nee Harris). Ron died in 1963. Marjorie remarried in 1966 to John (Pappy) Bell, who died in 1972. Marjorie continued to live there until 1978. (email from JS 2023)
