In Down Your Street, 1984 chapter on Ross: “…at one time a thriving general stores. Mrs Francis knew the shop when it first opened after the first world war. “Mrs Holmes opened up her fron room there as a sweet and general shop after her husband lost his job. There was a lot of unemployment then, and two other women in the street did the same.”
It became known as “Tedders”.
