Hope Brewery

History of the Hope Brewery, Parsonage Street

The Hope Brewery was situated next to the Star. It may have been occupied by Frederick Bailey before he purchased the Star. Bailey gives it as his address in 1858. Alfred Wisbey occupied the Hope in 1864. Part of the Hope may have survived incorporated into the Star Brewery until the 1980s.
