In the 1970s, the corner shop was run by Mr Cook and Jan, his daughter. No 1a Prospect Row was left to my mother (Angela Parfitt) by her grandfather late 60s. Her parents, my grandparents (Fred and Ivy) lived there until Fred died in 1980 and Ivy moved to London in the mid-80s until her death in 1990. Fred used to play cricket for Cambridgeshire and his bother ‘Cadder’ Parfitt also lived in Cambridge till his death in 1990 and appeared on the Russell Harty show as an ex-Japanese prisoner of war.
