UK Roll of Honour:

Desmond Royce Gatward: Flying Officer, 139761, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died on Sunday 17 December 1944. Age 24. Buried in SCHOONSELHOF CEMETERY Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. Son of Ernest Edward and Edith Audine Gatward, of Cambridge.

Died in the Rex Cinema in Antwerp when it was hit By A V-2 rocket which killed a total of 567 people.

National Probate Calendar:

Desmond Royce Gatward of 156 Gilbert Road Cambridge died 17 December 1944 on war service. Administration to Ernest Edward Gatward chief clerk.
