History of 225 and 227 High Street

Royal Commission Survey of Cambridge 1959:  house, now two tenements, nos 225, 227 high Street …. alls of rendered brickwork, presumably encasing timber framing, and tile covered roofs. It was built probably in the 17th cent., comprising a range with a lower cross wing at the SW end, and latter projecting only a short way beyond the main frontage, further at the back….. no 225 is derelict (1952).
