Emily and Arthur had lived for three years near Fortrey Hall. Her reminiscences of the village can be found in Mepal Vignettes (2005).


Also in 1939 the Sculthorpes are living on new Road, next to Green Farm.

In Mepal Vignettes (2005) George Sculthorpe describes his life on the fam. Around 1920 local farmers banded together to form the Mepal Milk Association.
