Stretham Ferry Bridge, c.1922 (Cambridgeshire Collection)

Stretham Ferry Bridge

History of the Stretham Ferry Bridge

In Vanishing Cambridge, p.166, it notes that the road from Ely to Cambridge was finished in 1784. A bridge replaced the former ferry but it was single width and steep. A new bridge was built in 1925 which was replaced again in 1976.
