History of Fridaybridge prisoner of war camp
The camp hosted Italian and Ukrainian prisoners of war from 1943 before becoming a hostel for agricultural workers.
Wisbech and Fenland Museum has several artefacts made by prisoners.
In 2026 SC sent us his account of his grandfather, Heinz Ulrich, who was held as a prisoner of war at Friday Bridge from 1944 after his capture in the Netherlands.
