Pepys House, 44 Huntingdon Road, Brampton
History of Pepys House
Listed Building
House, late C16 or early C17 with C17, C18 and C20 additions in a parallel linked range at rear.
Samuel Pepys probably stayed here with his uncle. On the uncles’s death, Samuel’s parents moved into the house. The house appears frequently in the diary. In October 1667 he recovers most of a hoard of gold coins he had buried in the garden.
