Rose Villa, High Street, Needingworth

History of Rose Villa

In 2026 SB sent this email:

The name of the house is Rose Villa opposite senescalls Road. So my grandma, Olive Fanny Tagg, 1898-1972, came to Needingworth from Lincolnshire for work as a ladies maid for Mrs Sandifer, a farmer whose daughter later married Olive’s brother!.  She married on 23/5/1923 Stanley Charles Robert Senescall (1893-1951). He helped his father, Robert Thompson Senescall (1869-1938), who was from Colsterworth Lincs, and came to Needingworth as a miller and baker around 1902/1911, previously a miller at Houghton mill. Stanley helped soldiers during war service abroad then returned to Needingworth.
