House. Dated 1689, altered C20. Coursed squared limestone with ironstone dressings, slate roof, stone end stacks.
Painted George Gordon Fraser moved away from his parents in Bedford, first to Hemingford Abbots then to the Old House, Houghton. Thus several brothers, all painters, ended up living in close proximity. See entry on Fraser family in Reed Cottage, Holywell.
George Gordon was drowned in the river in February 1895 while skating. He was buried at Hemingford Grey.
