Circa 1725. 3 storeys, red brick, parapet in moulded brick.

This was the address of the Falcon Brewery. It was founded about 1815, purchased by John Jenkins in 1849, and trading as Jenkins and Jones by 1884. Brewing ceased in 1919. (Brewing History Society)

In 1888 there was the strange case of the shooting of William Snelling, master brewer.

THE ALLEGED MURDER OF A BREWER.

Davis Woodowell, brewers’ labourer, was charged at Huntingdon, on Thursday, with the murder of William J. Snelling, managing brewer to Messrs. Jackson and Jones, Huntingdon, by shooting him with a gun. Fred Levitt, an employé at the brewery, stated that he was talking with deceased, who was at an upper window. Shortly afterwards he heard him cry for help. On running upstairs witness found deceased lying wounded, and the prisoner standing at a short distance, with a gun in his hand. Medical evidence showed that some shots were extracted from the lungs. The case was adjourned.

An employee David Wombwell was charged with the murder but aquitted.
