History of 38 Barton Road

1940:

Home of Arthur Cobb and his wife Catherine. In 1950 they moved to Cromwell House, Trumpington.

Mrs Cobb recalled the war-time spirit in barton Road. “Everyone got very matey doing firewatch duties.” She recalled a good deal of Army traffic passing up and down the road, but barton Close was a safe place for the children to play.she and an undergraduate did all the wartime carpentry in the Close.
