Tanholt Farm, Eye

History of Tanholt Farm

A monastic cattle farm or ‘vaccary’ was established here on reclaimed land in the 13th century.

At the Dissolution it was given to the Bishop of Peterborough and was seized by the crown in the late 16th century. No trace of the monastic buildings remains.
