Borough Fen, Peakirk

History of Borough Fen decoy

The Borough Fen decoy was designed to trap ducks by drawing them further and further down a system of nets. In the 19th century 200 dozen duck could be taken un a week during the permitted season, and sent down to Leadenhall Market in London.
