History of Church Farmhouse

Listed Building

House, formerly a farmhouse. Mid C18, and C20 alterations.

Eileen Fenn née Holmes went to work as a housemaid for Bessie Day and her brother Cyril at Church farmhouse  circa 1938. Eileen lived at the brickyard.

Eileen recounts in detail in ‘Memory Lane’ (2004) Swavesey History Society, what life was like working for the Days. Later in 1938 she quit.
