Great Gransden Windmill

History of Great Gransden Windmill

Listed building on Heritage at Risk Register

Constructed c1612, Great Gransden is one of the oldest surviving windmills in England. In 2017 the owner, Cambridgeshire County Council, completed major scheme of structural repairs to the buck and trestle with Historic England grant aid. A second phase of grant-aided work, to reinstate the stocks and sails, with much community involvement is likely to complete by the end of 2021.
