The Red House, Little Shelford by Fanny Wale in Shelford Parva

The Red House, Newton Road, Little Shelford

History of the Red House

Fanny Wale writes in Shelford Parva about The Red House: the Red House, built by Mr Bagnall in 1890-2. The architect was a Mr Pilkington. Whis this house was being built the Bagnalls lived in Cintra Lodge in Church Street. She was Hilda Dunn; they have children, Frederick, Mayrick, Hilda and May. In the neighbourhood they are well-known as clever amateur musicians and actors, and Mr Bagnall is also a very successful cultivator of mushrooms and asparagus which he grows in the allotment fields beyond his house.
