Field Houses, Whittlesford Road, Newton

History of the Field Houses

1885 OS Newton

The houses along this stretch of Whittlesford Road were owned by the Kidman family and occupied by Agricultural workers. The community was known as Little Newton. In the 1861 census there were 14 households. There were 17 in 1871 and 1881. By the 1930s they had fallen into disrepair and ruin.
