History of Church Farmhouse

Listed Building

House, c.1700 but with earlier stack. (Historic England)

Church farm once belonged to Jesus College and may date back to 1608. It has windows bricked in to avoid the window tax of 1696 – 1851. In the back garden was probably a Quaker cemetery. Numerous burials from as far back as Roman times have been found.
