1861

Joseph Mayer Nixson was appointed curate in charge of Rampton. He lived at Rampton Rectory. He was born in 1821 in Surrey and was educated at Clare College Cambridge, graduating in 1851. He married Amelia Jones Branch. They had five children, Jane (1852-1853, Eliza (1853- ), Charles (1855- ), May Amy (1858- 1949), Mary (1860-1941).

in 1893 he retired from Rampton and moved to St Michael’s Longstanton.
