The Farm, Cherry Hinton Road

the Farm Cherry Hinton Road

Mid 19th century maps show a triangle of land on the south side of Cherry Hinton around this location described as ‘The Farm’. This is distinct from Jordan’s Farm which was just to the south.

It is recorded that the Jolley family who built Rathmore house off Hills Road, owned a farm which lay between Rathmore Road and Cherry Hinton, almost certainly the same. It seems likely that this farm would have been associated with Hinton Cottage which was certainly on the same site as Rathmore in the early 19th century.
