Long Road, Cambridge

Notes on the history of Long Road, Cambridge

Long Road was formerly known as Mill Road because of the mill at the Trumpington End. It was also called the Via Lambertina after James Lambert, a former bursar of Trinity. The trees along the southern side of the road are labeled on early OS maps as Millroad Plantation.

Noel Odell geologist and engineer. He is also mentioned in this 2015 review of the film about the life of George Mallory the mountaineer.
