1935

Benedict Jones, barrister

Benedict Jones, former mayor of Birkenhead, was married to Henrietta Cornelia Melvill. Their son, Melvill Jones, became Professor of Aeronautical Engineering at Cambridge University from 1919-1952.

1953

David Shoenberg, (1911-2004), the celebrated low temperature physicist, took out a 99-year lease on property; lessors were Trinity College.
