By 1911 Ellen Gray had had 2 children of which only one still survived.


Dorothy Sanders moved here from Hartington Grove in the 1930s and lived here with her parents into the 1940s. Her father was local air raid warden and in 2016 she recorded her memories of the time:

Her mother had been organist at St John’s during WWII when Arthur Noble (the organist ) was serving in the RAF.
