A Railway Fireman & a Railway Porter

1881

Cambridge-born couple Charles and Emma Shedd live here in 1881.  Charles is 40 and works as a railway fireman.  Emma is 34 years old.  They have a lodger, Albert Curtis, who works as an engine driver.

1891

In 1891, 75 Kingston Street is home to Louisa Samworth, a 34 year old hailing from London. She is married to Carter Samworth, a 34 year old Railway porter. They have two daughters, 7 year old Dora and 4 year old Lilian.

1901

By 1901, 75 Kingston Street is now home to Lizzie Dowe, a 28 year old from Trumpington, married to 23 year old Arthur Dowe, a Chemist’s Porter.

1911

By 1911, Lizzie and Arthur have had a daughter, 3 year old Ida Rebecca Dowe, They have also taken on a boarder, in the form of Samuel Wade, a 27 year old Police Constable from London.
