78 Sturton Street

The Beck Family

1881

Thomas Yaxley and his wife Lucy. (see 56 Ainsworth Street)

1891 – 1911

The Beck Family live at 78 Sturton Street between 1891 and 1901.  Head of Household is Levi, a 50-year-old general labourer from Madingley.  His wife is Mary, she’s 57 and from Cambridge.  The couple married in Madingley on the 9th March 1865.

They have two adult children living with them in 1891, Alfred is 21 and a tennis teacher, Arthur is a Clerk.  Both boys were born in Madingley.

The children have left by 1901 and Levi is now a brick layers labourer.  Levi and Mary Ann remain at this property and are present there on the 1911 Census.

Levi died in  March 1913 aged 72.
