Betsey Whitmore, 60 widow, b Wicken
Alfred, 19, farm labourer, b Reach
Martha, granddaughter, 12, b Reach
Alfred signed up in September 1914, probably alongside his friend Percy Harold Millard. Alfred was killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. By 1916 Betsey and Martha had moved to the Alms Houses in Swaffham Prior.
Whitmore, Alfred Regiment number 15210 died 1-7-1916. From Reach
