History of 15 Magdalene Street
1959 Royal Commission on Historical Monuments Survey of Cambridge: Nos 15, 15a,16 … of two storeys with cellars and attics, have timber-framed walls and tiled roofs. They comprise a long early 16th cent, E range differing from tenement to tenement but all contemporary and uniform towards the street.
According to ‘Cambridge Revisited’ (1921) no.15 was the residence of Edward Storey (died 1693), formerly an Alderman of Cambridge and founder of Storey’s Charity.

Blood cart of Warrington, butchers, Magdalene Street 1953 (MoC93/53)
Waste was taken from the slaughterhouse to farms in Dry Drayton etc. The slaughterhouse was closed in 1946. The barrel is c.1918, the cart c. late 19th century.
