Cottage. C17. Timber framed and plastered with iron masks in pargetted panels, and rose decoration to dormers in high relief.
Palmer noted that the medallions on the right hand portion of the house were ancient. Those on the portion standing at right angles to the road were added by the collector and vendor of antiques who lived in it. The house nearly burned down in 1938. A fire hand broken out in the property of William Constable on the High Street. (CIP 25 March 1938)
