Lambs Lane, Cottenham

History of Lambs Lane

Cottenham in Focus (2002): before the Enclosures, lambs were driven along the lane through Two Mill Fields to the sheep common in Little North Fen. Two Mill Field began approximately at 34 lambs Lane.

After the Enclosure of 1842 Lambs Lane was extended to Rampton Road.

The photo from the 1930s shows from left to right, Cottenham Supply Stores, cottages built by Ellis Munsey after 1801, and the Constitutional Club.
