Post Mill. Early C17, restorations 1874, 1933, 61, 84. Timber-framed and weatherboarded with gabled roof, some material reused. Brick piers with two cross trees and quarter bars C19. Marine plyboard casing and weatherboarding added in 1984 by C. Wallis, millwright. (Four sails and mill ladder removed for repair). Interior, gearing complete with one pair of stones and wooden brake. Sack hoist driven by chain from a pulley on the windshaft. The mill is mentioned as standing in 1636 deed. It was purchased by The Cambridgeshire Preservation Society in 1932. One stud is inscribed E. Bismur 1758.
Described as one of the best preserved early windmills in Britain.
