History of Lark Hall
Although probably in the Weston Colville parish, the site of Lark Hall is some way to the northwest. The Saxby address on the 1911 census is Lark Hall, Six Mile Bottom, Weston Colville.

Frederick Albert Saxby joined the Cambridge Volunteer battalion when he was 17. He died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1.7.1916.
The Cambridge Evening News: Much sympathy is expressed with Mt and Mrs William Saxby of High Street, Madingley who have lost three sons in the war. Left to right are Pte Charles Saxby 1st Bedfordshire – killed at Hill 60, Pte William Saxby 11th Suffolk’s – killed in May and Pte David Saxby 11th Suffolk’s is out at the front. Pte Frederick Saxby West Kents – who has been called for foreign service, Pte Frederick Saxby 11th Suffolk’s – killed on 1st July.
